Helping nurture your wellbeing with integrated movement, breathwork and meditative practices.

As a movement coach I believe that it is important to create a non-judgemental space and empower practitioners through awareness. Through various personal setbacks, be it physical or emotional, my own practice has held space for me and helped me cope. All I’ve needed to do, is show up on my mat and experience it. With Evam yoga I hope to share and create a space for You to be able to do the same. I help You understand the process and make it a part of your self-care rather than an undesirable chore. Whether the desired result is fitness, coping or recovery,  you are covered with routines that are smart, purposeful and sustainable. I curate class sequences that incorporate yoga asanas, pilates, functional training, pranayama and meditation for a well-balanced physiological and psychological development.  As a practitioner I understand the importance of being compassionate with yourself and my experience as a teacher encourages an intentional practice for consistency, growth and healing.

meditation

to help inculcate mindfulness into your practice on the mat so you can gradually harbour it while off the mat too. Being able to do so would enable you to efficiently cope with stress and anxiety.

The approach

Movement doesn’t always have to be intense exercise for physical upkeep or slow drills for mental destress. I say Movement – not exercise or workout – but movement, for it is the antidote to the stagnation caused by trauma or stress settling in the body. Healing comes with movement but only by being consistent and following sustainable practices that prevents injury, supports functional development and encourages longevity. So, it is important to create a system that allows growth and not just a habit that may wear out. Starting with fundamental movement patterns, my sequences  gradually builds up on progression of endurance and maintenance of strength. I curate them with a more holistic approach rather than a targeted one, to support the bidirectional communication between the body and the mind.

I started practicing yoga not only to maintain general fitness but also to develop mindfulness. I had knee pain and varicose vein issues, which have greatly reduced due to my regular yoga practice. The flexibility of my joints have considerably improved, and I feel energetic throughout the day. Most importantly, I am able to manage my aches and pains and develop a sense of balance through my practice. It has been six years since I started practicing yoga with Vrithica. I appreciate that she pays attention to correct our postures so that we can avoid injuries during class. Her classes are never monotonous, as she has a different class plan for each day. Needless to say, even after all these years, I still look forward to her class every day.

Having survived covid I was still not feeling my 100 percent. Besides the physical and emotional toll, my inner strength and confidence seemed to have been lost. Recommended by a friend I joined Vrithica's classes. Before joining the group we met for a one on one session, and also did regular check-ins later on. I was certainly overwhelmed with the idea of being coached online and certainly apprehensive due to limitations of my health. But, Vrithica, being the very dedicated and passionate yoga instructor, made sure I was comfortable and didn't feel left out. She gives personal attention to all her students and modifies asanas depending on her's or his physical condition. Apart from her, the group in general are very patient and accommodating which really helped me adapt quickly. Before long I was able to find my willpower and the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. Personally both my physical and mental health improved greatly.

I was first introduced to asana practice due to lower back pain. I was so impressed by the results that I wanted to explore more in this field. When I started training with Vrithica, it was intended for a short period of time, but that was not to be, and it has been over two years since. As the classes progressed, I felt good mentally and physically, so I decided to continue. Vrithica not only teaches yoga but also incorporates Pilates, cardio, resistance, and various forms of asana practices to help us improve our stability and build strength. She pays personal attention to each and every student's progress, which I think is essential. As a senior citizen, I might be late to learn yoga, but I have improved in strength, flexibility, concentration, and patience in such a short time. It has been an amazing journey, and with a trainer like Vrithica, I am assured of achieving greater heights in my practice.
