As a young girl, I was drawn to dance in all its forms, and it gradually became my passion. During my college days, I turned to Zumba as a way to stay fit, as it came naturally to me. I thought I was in control of my mental and physical wellbeing, as I could easily last through a one-hour Zumba session.
But then came motherhood at the age of 26, and even after my second pregnancy at 31, I continued with the same routine. It wasn't until my body started talking to me in many ways that I realized the need to adapt and listen to what my body was telling me.
For me, it took two pregnancies to change my perception about health, strength, stability, and, most importantly, mindfulness. I knew that practicing yoga under proper guidance would be the right choice for me since it was a holistic approach that I could do at my own pace and anytime, anywhere.
I felt incredibly comfortable and confident to start my yoga journey with Vrithica, who has guided me since six months after my second delivery until today, four years later. I walked into her class with sleepless nights, backache, and fatigue, but never once did the thought cross my mind to quit. Each session has renewed and strengthened me. I had severe lower back pain and a very weak core, but now I can do any workout, treks, or aerobics with no back or knee issues.
Vrithica brings in new class plans every day with varied yoga sessions to ensure we work on every muscle of our body and look forward to something new in every class. She always focuses on posture correction, guided breathing, and ensures the entire class is focused and has knowledge of every movement or asana we are holding.
Very few people touch our lives in this journey of ours, and I feel fortunate to have met Vrithica and had the opportunity to train under her.
